What is new in 2.9 for video operators

This is an overview of new features and changes that are relevant for video operators. For an overview of all new features and changes, see the release notes or What is new in 2.9 for administrators.

Be signed out if you are inactive

For added security, your administrator can now configure Meeting Management to sign you out if you are inactive for a certain period of time.

New lock mode

Call Bridges running Meeting Server version 2.9 have a new lock mode that lets you lock out all participants unlike the existing lock mode that only locks out non-Activators. The new lock mode is the default for Meeting Server 2.9 and later.

Note: The lock mode affects what happens when you move participants into a locked meeting. If you are using the lock mode that lets you lock out all participants, then moved participants may stay in the lobby of the new meeting.

Note: The lock mode affects what happen when you add participant to a locked meeting. If you are using the lock mode that lets you lock out all participants, the participants you add to a locked meeting may stay in the lobby.

Meeting lock enabled for scheduled meetings

In previous releases, the meeting lock button was disabled for scheduled meetings. In this release, the meeting lock button is enabled for all scheduled meetings.

Admit all

If a meeting is hosted on a Call Bridge that runs Meeting Server version 2.9 then the Admit all button lets all participants into the meeting, whether or not an Activator is present.

Support for Cisco Meeting Server web app

In this release we have added a call type named web app, which is short for the Meeting Server web app.

For information about the new web app, see the Cisco Meeting Server web app Important information document.
